I was born in 1986 in Neryungri, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). I studied at the Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University, economic geography and regional policy, then obtained a law degree in 2015 and completed postgraduate studies in law in 2025; my dissertation research is on the digitalisation of justice. Alongside that came professional retraining in insolvency administration at the Plekhanov University, in mediation, business valuation, enterprise economics and public administration.
In 2015 I founded the law firm Kovalev & Partners and have run it since as managing partner: corporate disputes and M&A, insolvency and subsidiary liability, tax disputes, digital law. Since 2019 the attorneys of the Kovalev, Malyutov, Tsypkalo & Partners Moscow Bar Association work with the firm on criminal defence.
Outside the firm I chair the board of directors of Bank Yoshkar-Ola and serve as its vice president for development, chair the Perspektiva association and the Wings of a Dream foundation, and organise and moderate business forums in Mari El: tax, foreign trade, applied AI. I work in Moscow, Yoshkar-Ola and Mariupol. Married, raising two daughters.
Everything on kovalev.su is my personal practice as a sole proprietor: crisis management, mediation, business value and pre-acquisition review, career strategy for executives, recruitment and training. I handle each engagement myself, from the first conversation to the result.
